Business Litigation and Trial Practice

Oxbridge attorneys understand the complex business challenges which accompany high-stakes litigation.  Our lawyers consider all of the options, first evaluating whether litigation can be avoided through alternative resolutions.  We then determine the most effective manner for reaching resolution.  Our statewide footprint and one team approach enable us to handle complex matters anywhere in the State of California and elsewhere in the country.  Our state of the art electronic information management infrastructure minimizes the burden of discovery or disclosure on our clients while providing innovative tools for presenting the case as effectively as possible.

Oxbridge’s attorneys have extensive experience trying cases before juries and judges in both state and federal courts.  Our trial lawyers regularly appear in courts all over the country, often trying the most sophisticated and complex cases.  Many of these cases are cases of first impression and have become published decisions and are often cited by other courts and attorneys.  By way of example, one of our partners represented a national bank in a high-profile trial obtaining a multi-million dollar judgment, including $2 million in punitive damages, against a developer and its owner.  One of our partners also served as lead trial attorney in a five-week trial, successfully defending against a $50 million lender liability claim, and he litigated a complex action in a federal district court in the Western District of Washington based on federal and state racketeering statutes against a ring of mortgage professionals, borrowers and others, who defrauded the banking client of several million dollars.  One of our partners successfully obtained a summary judgment ruling on behalf of a major lender in a seminal case in a federal district court for the Northern District of California, eliminating a popular defense that non-English speaking borrowers have employed to evade or cancel their mortgage loans, which resulted in a published decision (ING Bank v. Ahn, 758 F.Supp.2d 936 (N.D. Cal. 2010)).  One of Oxbridge’s attorneys has obtained numerous successful decisions for his school district clients in hearings before state administrative agencies and federal courts.  Another Oxbridge attorney represented a large school district in a comprehensive consent decree overhauling the school district’s provision of educational services to its students.
